This sand castle was left over from the night before. I got to Largs just before Sunrise - the tide was coming in but the castle was still in perfect condition. As I was shooting, the moat filled up and the castle slowly washed away. I wish i knew who built it, so I could tell them that I enjoyed it the next morning

I was fascinated by the textures, and light under this jetty. I thought I would try it in Black and white with high contrast for something a bit different. Thought to be the longest jetty in the Southern Hemisphere, it has been beaten up by storms, shortened, rebuilt. The remnants of the end of the jetty still stand, with a colony of birds roosting on the posts.

This image has so much meaning for me. It was taken along Chain of Ponds in a burn off after the Samson Flat Fires. I was on my way to Tafe which is the only reason I had the camera in the car and the sun was rising behind the trees as the smoke was drifting. I was really in the right place at the right time. I look at it and I see what hope does in the dark places in our lives.
